Encryption is No Longer an Option - Ways to Restore Your Natural Right to Privacy

Encryption is No Longer an Option
“If the State’s going to move against you, it’s going to move against you. Now, that doesn’t mean you need to be reckless of course. I’m awful careful you guys, and even my degree of care and control ultimately won’t be enough if they get mad enough. There will always be something…I’ve done what I hope is the best any man can do. So…I hope when they finally do get me, it’s obvious that they just made it up. I don’t go out of my way to make it easy.” – Cody Wilson
For all Anarchists our love for freedom unites us and guides us. I recently had a conversation with a mutual friend that Cody and I have in common and he stated something very insightful:
CryptoAnarchy is like the Lord of the Rings. You have to cooperate with people that you don’t know where they are or what they’re up to. That is, you just know that we are all figuring out at the same time on how to take down Sauron.
Anarchy is guided by the natural instinct for self-preservation. You can trust that others are also actively working in keeping us all free.
For us all to move into more synergistic cooperation we need more motivation. Nothing is more motivating than our movement away from an impending harmful evil. The persecution that Cody Wilson has gone through since he started his activism is testament to the evil that awaits the entire world if we do not fight against the impending digital global prison. Just note how easy it was to find Cody. Government indoctrinated brownshirts and surveillance are everywhere.
As Jeff recently said in London, “CryptoAnarchy is about the cryptography.” Cryptocurrency is only possible due to the privacy offered by cryptography. A true cryptocurrency is completely fungible, anonymous, and private. Blockchains without on-chain privacy set by default, are dangerous and offer nothing other than accurate surveillance.
That is, the moment you destroy a coin’s fungibility you corrupt its incentive structure. This is because you would then have two classes of the same coin within a transparent blockchain; these are coins that are “tainted” or “untainted” according to government. This differentiation created by blockchain surveillance leads “tainted” coins to be priced differently from “untainted” coins. Once this happens you destroy the functionality of a currency as a medium of exchange.
Imagine the headache of retailers in having to tell clients that they only accept “untainted” bitcoins. The result of not having a fungible medium of exchange is that you destroy the incentive structure of the network effect of a coin. You simply end up with a useless and unwanted network where value is supposed to be exchanged. If the units within the medium of exchange do not themselves contain the same value in the market, the utility of the network effect is destroyed.
The economic ramifications of non-fungible SurveillanceCoins are so bad that they make fiat currencies of central banks look good. In spite of their centralized proof of government violence, fiat currencies are more fungible and private than a coin based on a transparent blockchain.
For much time within crypto we would call the majority of blockchains as “pseudo-anonymous” because we knew the importance of fungibility. At that time blockchain analysis had not caught up to our technology. Now companies like Elliptic and Chainalysis have made the vast majority of blockchains in the market transparent.
Sadly, most blockchain communities have not upgraded their privacy to be on chain by default- making them transparent. However, some more intelligent communities- like Monero- are at the same time growing because they understand the importance of fungibility.
Please understand that we at TDV are ahead of the pack in understanding where all of this is going. The vast majority of people won’t tell you these harsh truths about the Blockchain space, but it is our moral imperative to inform you as best as possible.
As time goes on, we will continue to champion actual fungible CryptoCurrencies and we will continue to make clear distinctions between a SurveillanceCoin and an actual CryptoCurrency.
It is important that we take a step back from CryptoCurrencies and focus on just cryptography. You can never be too careful. Throughout our groups we have had various requests as to how to better use different wallets.
Yes, we will cover all of that in our upcoming surprise for our community, but what is most important is that you protect yourself at the network layer, your identity, and your communication.
CryptoAnarchy began way before Bitcoin. If you want to know what will be happening to CryptoCurrencies and CryptoAnarchy in the near future, you need to read Timothy C. May’s 1992 prophetic Crypto Anarchist Manifesto.
On reading this, you cannot afford to be idle regarding your privacy. This is not the time for you to easily give up what is most personal about you; your thoughts and identity. Your privacy is sacred. You need to protect your privacy as much as possible at all times. Don’t give into the defeatist notions of future technology being capable of deanonymizing any cryptography you currently use. Your goal is to be private right now in the present moment.
You are up against a global digital tyranny- that is already here!
...Cazes was not a US citizen and the Alphabay servers and Cazes were not caught on US soil. Just because crimes involving narcotic deals took place in America, weirdly enough, the US seemingly has the right above anyone to seize Cazes’ property, and charge him and his accomplices in US trials...
Use Secure Hardware That Protects You
Be paranoid. Stay paranoid. The more paranoid you are the better. Currently the five eyes are moving to strip away all of your privacy. They are on the direct path to force all companies to hand over back doors to software and hardware encryption.
This is a new breach on individual rights. The backdoors in hardware have existed since the 90’s via Trusted Computing and Digital Rights Management (DRM). The difference is that now companies will be fined and forced by governments (all governments) to open up backdoors for the surveillance of all- in both software and hardware. Australia is leading the charge since they are the only ones within the five eyes without a Bill of Rights.
If you really want to be secure, then you need to start with your hardware. Almost all laptops and hardware chips are engineered with unsafe software. These chips can transmit voice, your networking, pictures, and even video signals. Many of these chips are used to install spyware, malware and viruses.
The market has provided us with two easy plug-and-play hardware solutions.
Purism is a CryptoAnarchist company dedicated in offering us the safest computers in the market. Purism’s line of Librem Laptops is manufactured with software and hardware built from the ground up, where you can be at ease knowing there are no back doors built within it. They work with hardware component suppliers and the Free software community in making hardware that respects and protects your security. Every chip is individually selected with emphasis on respecting freedom. (Purism Librem laptops have built in Kill-Switches for your microphone/camera and wireless/Bluetooth)
All of the necessary components that you would have to bundle up together- by yourself- from a community vetted place like Prism-Break are already installed and ready to go within Librem laptops. Even if you were to install all of the necessary open-source encrypted alternatives, you still would not be able to 100% trust your current computer’s hardware.
Purism Librem laptops come with their own PureOS (operating system). Purism also offers compatibility with Qubes OS in a flash-drive (similar to Tails) to give you even another layer of protection on top of PureOS. Qubes OS is what Edward Snowden uses. PureOs is a derivative of Debian GNU/Linux. Qubes is free and open-source software (FOSS).
Purism is currently having a pre-sale for their first phone the Librem 5.
Another popular safe hardware computer market alternative is ORWL. ORWL is a desktop PC. ORWL comes with a physical encryption key that looks like a keychain. If anyone ever tries to physically tamper with the ORWL computer, sensors will automatically detect the intrusion and erase everything. ORWL comes with the operating system options of Qubes OS, Ubuntu, or Windows.
ORWL does not receive payment for their products in Crypto. Purism on the other hand accepts payment in BitcoinCore, BitcoinCash, Litecoin, Ethereum, Decred, Dogecoin, and Monero.
ORWL is a good alternative for more computer savvy people. If you are not the most competent person with computers, Purism is the way to go. With Purism everything is ready to go.
Once you get good hardware don’t use this new computer for anything other than crypto stuff. That is, don’t use it with anything that requires your slave identity. Don’t access social media with your name, don’t access bank accounts, don’t access crypto exchanges, don’t access old email accounts, definitely don’t access anything that requires KYC and AML, and don’t access any identifying log-in that is related to any of your previous internet identities. Create new identities from scratch for this new computer.
Watch this video and learn about the basics on operational security (OPSEC). Take everything written here, and spoken at the conference in the video above, as barely the preliminary basic requirements of OPSEC. You should definitely continue your own research upon getting your new secure hardware computer.
(It would be best if you purchased this computer using crypto- Monero preferably- and have it mailed to a mailing address not associated with any of your addresses; think along the lines of JJ Luna).
Encrypt Your Communication
“This generation being born now... is the last free generation. You are born and either immediately or within say a year you are known globally. Your identity in one form or another –coming as a result of your idiotic parents plastering your name and photos all over Facebook or as a result of insurance applications or passport applications– is known to all major world powers.” – Julian Assange
The vast majority of our community uses Facebook. Unfortunately its network effect is something we all rely on to some degree. Fortunately for us a friend of our community created FaceMask. Through FaceMask we can still use Facebook in complete privacy- away from Zuckerberg's prying eyes. In the near future we will implement FaceMask into our TDV groups as optional privacy for our posts. We will provide our subscribers with the keys necessary to encrypt and decrypt the messages and posts. Again, this is optional. For now please go to the link above and familiarize yourself with Facemask and its technology.
Don’t use Google. If you are using Google start transitioning out of it. If you are using Gmail, start moving towards encrypted services like ProtonMail or TutaNota. They both offer a free option, try them both out and choose your favorite. Use two factor authentication on everything that requires you to log-in that allows for the use of two factor authentication. Most people use Google Authenticator and Authy. I personally prefer the open source options of FreeOTP & andOTP. Use the one that you find best suited for you. Using one is paramount for security nowadays.
If you are one that uses Google Docs with your team, move instead to CryptPad. The more you use CryptPad the more addicting it becomes; your collaborated work is encrypted and private. You no longer will have to worry about knowing that Google is capturing all of your collaborated work. You can also start using CryptPad for free.
If you are using Skype for conference calls, switch to Jitsi. Jitsi is even easier to use than Skype. If you use their MeetJitsi feature you can just access the encrypted conferencing via any browser by agreeing with your other party on the same predetermined passphrase.
Don’t use regular text messaging. Rather, use Signal, Wickr, Keybase, or Telegram.
Use a VPN
A VPN (virtual private network) encrypts all of your traffic via a private network of servers scattered throughout the world. This process anonymizes your IP address. Make sure you don’t use your identity when using a VPN- that would just give away your identity as being connected with the VPN servers you are using.
Many VPN providers register your activity and can hand it over to government if they so demand it. They break their promises to their clients all the time. Let’s minimize risk by staying away from the most draconian of jurisdictions.
To lessen this issue, do not ever use a VPN that is based out of any of the 5 eyes:
-United Kingdom
-United States
-Australia
-Canada
-New Zealand
Furthermore, avoid VPNs based out of the following nine countries, that combined with the first 5 make up the 14 eyes:
-Denmark
-France
-The Netherlands
-Norway
-Germany
-Belgium
-Italy
-Spain
-Sweden
No VPN is a complete safeguard. In spite of this, it is still best to use one. We recommend you ONLY use it (turn it on) when doing crypto-related things and only crypto-related things on your regular computer. For your new encrypted hardware computer have it on at all times. If you use it to access an actual bank account, or another personal account (including crypto accounts that require your personal information; read coinbase, or any other exchange) — then, again, the use of the VPN use becomes trite.
Here are six VPN options outside of the 14 eyes that we recommend you research further and use at your own discretion:
NordVPN (Panama)
CyberGhost (Romania)
HideMe (Malaysia)
Astrill (Seychelles)
TrustZone (Seychelles)
iVPN (Gibralter)
Like all things in the market now, some VPNs take Crypto as payment—others do not. It is best if you bought your VPN with crypto not not your credit card, debit card, or paypal.
TOR (The Onion Router)
The Onion Router is software that you use as a browser. It protects you by bouncing your communications around a distributed network- throughout the world- of relays runned by volunteers. This prevents evesdroppers from learning your IP address, spying on you, and disclosing your physical location. TOR also allows you to access sites that are blocked.
You can use TOR and a VPN simultaneously. If you are new to all of this, it is best that you just learn how to use the features of your new computer coupled with your preferred VPN. The use of TOR is a little more complicated and you will have to configure it according the specifications of your preferred VPN. As you begin this process, as long as you are using your VPN correctly you should be fine.
Fincen and crypto-exchanges
ShapeShift is now stuck having to require its users to deanonymize their transactions in order to meet KYC and AML requirements; it pretty clear that they got ShapeShift under the Bank Secrecy Act. Stay away from Shapeshift (sorry @erikvorhees).
“Very disappointed that @ShapeShift_io is implementing KYC. Just goes to show that any centralized entity will be pushed in that direction, which is why LN, atomic swaps and Decentralized Exchanges are the only way to resist a surveillance economics.” - Andreas Antonopoulos
As the news of ShapeShift broke out, the market was quick to answer with alternatives. Among the private centric alternatives to ShapeShift we find Godex, ChangeHero, XMR.TO, and Bisq.
ChangeHero and Godex are pretty much the same business concept as ShapeShift. The only difference is that they do not require you to become transparent. XMR.TO allows you to make BTC payments by using Monero.
That is, by using Monero together with XMR.TO you can pay any BTC address in the world while protecting your privacy.
Bisq is the Best Option
The most important to focus on is Bisq. Bisq is a complete decentralized exchange. Bisq is instantly accessible- there is no need for registration or approval from a central authority. The system is decentralized peer-to-peer and trading cannot be stopped or censored.
Bisq is safe. Unlike MtGox and the rest of centralized exchanges, Bisq never holds your funds. Bisq provides a system of decentralized arbitration with security deposits that protect traders. The privacy is set where no one except trading partners exchange personal identifying information. All personal data is stored locally.
All communication on Bisq is end-to-end encrypted routed over Tor. Upon downloading and running Bisq TOR runs on Bisq automatically. Every aspect of the development of Bisq is open source.
Bisq is easy to use. If you are accustomed to centralized exchanges, you might find Bisq a little different. If you want anonymity and privacy, this is the best crypto exchange we have. Tell your friends about Bisq. Just download Bisq and take it for a test drive, you will feel fresh freedom of entering into peaceful voluntary exchange with your fellow man. Do it, it’s good for the soul.
On Cody
I would like to personally thank all of our subscribers for generously donating to Defense Distributed on our last issue. At the moment of us putting out our last newsletter, DefDist had raised less than 100k USD. After our Newsletter got out, his donations went past 300k USD.
Thank you very much for helping out our friends in their continual fight for freedom!
Please pray for Cody, his friends, and his family.
I once asked Cody what his background was- because idk his mannerisms have always been interesting to me. He answered; “I am Romani- I am a Gypsy.”
Thank you for helping out our Gypsy friend and his band of rebels! They will very much be using your generous donations now that things got much more serious.
If you haven’t donated, please consider donating. Blessings!

Earn cryptocurrencies by selling your old stuff

Bycryp is a new platform to buy and sell products and services using cryptocurrencies. When a user registers they have access to a wallet compatible with Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, Lithecoin, Dogecoin and Monero, from which they can manage their balance, make deposits and withdrawals, and make changes between currencies.
In Bycryp you can earn cryptocurrencies in several ways.
• Publishing ads in which products or services are offered
• Using the Faucet.
• With referrals.
There is also a category called "Wishlist" in which a user can publish an ad that includes a link to a product from any internet website indicating in which cryptocurrency he would like to buy it. Another user who wishes to purchase this cryptocurrency can make the purchase in fiat money (euros, dollars ...) and receive in return the cryptocurrencies of the user who published the advertisement. A way to buy cryptocurrencies easily, without commissions and in small amounts.
Now Bycryp gives 3 Dogecoins per ad published so if you have any utensil at home and want to win some crypts you are already taking.

Blessings!

Cryptocurrencies in analogy with the real world

This is my first contribution to the CryptoCurrency, and as already been commented it's too long, you can scroll down to the MAIN PART, so, please comment about changes you would make to it or just your opinion in general. Thanks
Remember Nash equilibrium, Gresham's law, the rules of the Stasi? So the banking system is similar to the Stasi. But that's not the topic. Why did crypto currency become currency in general? The Nobel laureate in economics would have answered something like this: "At some point in time, the market fell into Nash's equilibrium, where everyone suddenly agreed that counting bitcoin as a currency is normal." Why do men wear trousers, and women wear skirts? Historically, in Scotland it wasn't done that way. It's just that at some point everyone agreed that this should be so. Nash equilibrium.
Generally ... What is the currency? A currency is a means of indirect exchange. Once the means of exchange were the feathers of a pheasant, which before that did not cost anything. But then the demand arose and people said: "The feather will be a currency, a means of indirect exchange." Gradually, the general requirements for currency were formed: it should be simply divided into parts, and its value does not change; It is easy to carry around; And it should have a long shelf life.
Well and the main thing - people should be ready to use currency as a means of exchange. With the crypto currency the same thing happened: people were READY to use it. Now I'm ready to exchange my phone for bitcoin. It is clear that all other criteria for crypto currency is, perhaps, even better than any other currency (it is much easier to store, transfer, divide, and it is eternal).
And why there was a crypto currency? One of the main reasons, in my opinion - is the huge embitterment of people on the banking system with all of its rules, which are being promoted under the auspices of a mythical struggle against scammers and other scoundrels. So, the current banking system is similar to the Stasi, to which I must explain why I have such a gait, and not another, and why I go to work such a route, and not another. And then, unless two-meter fences stop real criminals? When criminals need to break into the banking system, they just buy a bank.
All these safety rules are, in fact, useless. Therefore, there is a global irritation of people by the banking system. This can be seen everywhere - and in business of any size, too, from small to large.
The annoyance created a request for some kind of analogue to the current system. There was a crypto currency. And the process can not be stopped - the crypto currency will take its place in the world economy. What a question for now.
The problem is that in fact, the crypto currency is not used today precisely as a means of exchange. The phenomenon is called the Gresham's law: no one wants to pay with the currency, which constantly and strongly becomes more expensive. Everyone has heard a story with two pizzas that were bought for 10 thousand BTC in 2010 (just curious if pizza shop kept those bitcoins until today).
Who wants a pizza for $ 15 million? Or do you want to drive in a Toyota car, bought today for 30 BTC, after learning in a year that they paid $3 million for it? Therefore, the crypto currency is used as a means of accumulation and speculation.
At the same time, the process of continuous growth leads to the fact that basic crypto-currencies lose their properties as a means of settlement - stability. They turn into the semblance of shares of a rapidly growing company. And who wants to sell or change the goods and services of treasuring shares today, if tomorrow they will cost more. This is problem.
Stablecoin The volatility of the crypto currency is the subject of long-standing discussions, in which the words "bubble" and "speculative instrument" can often be heard. The problem is solved including the launch of special settlement crypto-currencies, the so-called "stablecoins". This is a crypto currency, the value of which is determined not only by the demand for it, but also by more established methods.
In the world there were several attempts to create such stablecoins. As a rule, they were tied to either the value of the fiat currencies - the dollar, the euro - or raw materials (commododis) - oil, gold, and so on. But due to various reasons, they were not widely used.
First of all, because the creators of such currencies violated the principle of blockchain - distribution and independence. They issued crypto currency, they sold it, and they bought security on the proceeds. And the fact that the security was stored and controlled by the release organizers did not inspire confidence in the community.
Now there are more advanced projects. In general, there is a hypothesis that the future is behind the "stable", tied to commododes.
It is based on the fact that in the society in general and in the economy in particular, the so-called fatigue of the material of the classical unsecured money. At the same time, we see that the same dollar, euro, yuan, Brazilian real and all other classical currencies are also subject to volatility. And all this against the backdrop of a global rise in the cost of money.
The economy is looking for alternatives. But will the social request for a block of commodities be critically higher than for classical money? I am not sure. But the fact that it will be more than now - most likely.
Right now, there are several interesting stablecoin projects in the world:
There is a project Tether, which stably enters the TOP-50 on capitalization (just over $300 million). Tether is the dollar's coin, 1 to 1.
In Israel, they launched a start-up, which tries to make a crypto currency, tied to oil. In fact, they are not yet very successful, because they can not solve the problem of oil storage - it is difficult to store.
There are projects that try to link the crypto currency to computing power, to electricity, such as SONM.
You can easily explain to your mother about the crypto currency, tied to gold.
I have not talked about the main (yet) and most obvious commodity - gold. Gold is a commodity that everyone understands. Gold accounts for about 5-10% of the global investment market. Gold is a natural limited natural resource. According to open data, the gold reserves of governments are about 30 thousand tons, and about the same in the hands of citizens. Total about 60 thousand tons. About 3 thousand tons of gold is extracted every year.
This is a stable figure that can not change dramatically in any direction due to distributed production in different countries and established technologies. Therefore, the value of gold, expressed in goods and services, practically does not change.
All this makes gold the ideal equivalent of calculation. Actually, it was so throughout the history of human development. Even the first money was tied to gold until governments decided to replace the gold mining process with a simpler process of printing paper money.
Well, the main thing: you easily explain to your mother about the crypto-currency, tied to gold. And she will understand you.
Now there are several "golden" crypto projects. There are not so many, but everyone has a different concept:
Impressive is the OneGram project from Dubai, which plans to raise $ 500 million for the ICO, which began on May 27 and which should end on September 24. For today, 22% of 12,400,786 tokens sold at $ 43.18 apiece are sold. "Dubai" and "gold" sounds somehow impressive, you must agree. OneGram is tied to the stored physical gold. They have a content, strange, in my opinion, a counter: they position themselves as a project for Muslims. In the world of blockade, any artificial limitation causes questions, because it contradicts the very concept of technology. True, according to the founders themselves, now most of the investors of the project are not Muslims.
Still there is a project of the British Royal Mint - Royal Mint Gold, in which one token is tied to one gram of gold. The project raises questions from the point of view of decentralization.
Another ambitious project is the American-Australian OZCoin. It is provided with 100 thousand ounces (slightly more than 2.8 tons) of gold at 24 carats.
Also, there is a "Russian" Goldmint. I took the "Russian" in quotes, because it has international team. The project plans to hold ICO in September, and in May held pre ICO and collected for a couple of days $600 thousand. Imagine that there is an ingot of gold that is able to be transported quickly and cost-free to anywhere in the world without a chance of being stolen.
Usually verification of the team removes 9/10 of the risk - the probability of "scam" or some illegal actions is equated to zero. I always say that Whitepaper, the business plan in the ICO world is secondary to the team. It does not matter what you do, but who you are. If tomorrow Elon Musk will grow cows, then investors will believe in his project.
Overview of TOP-15 crypto-currency Now about the crypto currency in general. On the Internet, you can easily find sites where you can see the capitalization of each crypto currency, which is drawn at the crypto-exchange, its current price in dollars, the schedule of price changes, the amount of currency that is traded on the market. Such statistics will help a little to understand the beginning investors, but give at least a general idea of what is happening.
I will briefly talk about several crypto-currencies in the TOP-50 on capitalization: what are their essence, advantages and disadvantages. And despite the fact that in many of them I invested money, I will not give any specific advice on investment here.
MAIN PART
The analogy from the real world is gold. This currency appeared first on the market, and therefore occupies (so far) the first place in terms of popularity, capitalization and exchange rate relative to the dollar. All other currencies, which appeared later, began to be called altcoins, and bitcoin is still a benchmark, from which all are repelled. Bitcoin is a crypto currency that can only be sent, received and stored. In doing so, it has many disadvantages inherent in the architecture itself: it is slow, difficult to scale, requires a lot of power for mining, a lot of storage space, transactions are expensive, and cryptography can be hacked if desired.
Here are the cons: Bitcoin is slow, means that transactions in bitcoin occur every 10 minutes. To confirm the transaction, you need to mine, and this is a very energy-intensive process. To increase the number of users (scalability), you need to increase the computing power of computers. Bitcoin was not such a decentralized system, as it was announced at the very beginning. Theoretically, the miners can unite into huge pools and manage the network. The maximum number of bitcoins that can be released is 21 million. To date, they have already produced 16.75 million. What will happen when the total volume reaches the limit? Obviously, there will be a so-called hardfork, when it will be decided to create a new version of the bitcoin-network. This means a big vote, if you want - holding a referendum among the holders of the bitcoins. The Chinese holders of the Crypto-currency were in favor of holding such a referendum already in September. After him, perhaps, the "constitution" of bitcoin will change. And we know how constitutions change easily and quickly in different countries ...
An analogy from the real world is the new Microsoft. "Ether" begins to press bitcoin in terms of popularity. Probably, this currency has more prospects. If bitcoin can act only as a means of exchange and storage, then Ethereum has a number of advantages. The main thing is the ability to create smart contracts. Now, this platform is the most popular in the world in the construction of the block economy, and is used with numerous ICO. Ethereum inherited almost all the diseases of bitcoin. Yes, it's faster - it updates every 10 seconds (that is 60 times faster), but it has the same scaling problems (the recent case with SONM is an example), power consumption and storage. It may well challenge the leadership of bitcoin in the near future.
An analogy from the real world is the new VISA. The project team is trying to make a new payment system so that it can make payments in all currencies. The advantage of this currency is that it is used by banks. However, it is not decentralized. Coins can not be mined, therefore, their number does not increase. Ripple has a huge speed advantage over BTC and ETH, but the operations are not so transparent. For the classical banking system, this is normal - there anonymity has never been welcomed.
An analogy from the real world is platinum, which is cheaper than gold. Absolute analog of the bitcoin. Faster, better in all respects - but just turned out to be the second. But it is worth it in terms of diversifying investment in the same bitcoin. However, there is nothing from the point of view of innovation.
The analogy from the real world is Alibaba (not Amazon). Alibaba - the largest online store with a multi-billion dollar turnover. But still understand that it is still not as steep as Amazon. Classic may even be more expensive than regular Ethereum, but there are some nuances. ETC appeared after the Ethereum hardfork, which occurred last fall, and still does not cause trust in the crypto community. The main attention is still paid to ETH, and all the iconic projects are being conducted on this platform.
The analogy from the real world is "not clear who." Honestly, I do not often see these currencies. NEM is mainly drawn in Japan, where it is officially allowed to buy and sell goods for crypto currency. The number of coins is always one less than 9 billion, additional emission is not provided, so there is no mining, but there is a so-called harvesting. A major jump in the NEM course occurred in May, when a closed Mijin platform was created on the basis of NEM, through which Japanese banks can conduct secure transactions. NEM is built on the example of bitcoin, but there are no fundamental differences in architecture.
Dash - crypto currency, whose transactions are completely anonymous. Many people talk about this as an advantage, but think: why does an ordinary person have complete anonymity in transactions? Still, all decisions about changes in the "constitution" take place with the help of a general vote, that is, the Dash-network is completely decentralized. Naturally, both currencies work faster than a bitcoin and have a number of software advantages.
An analogy from the real world is the new Google. A real innovation in the world of crypto currency. It offers a fundamentally new paradigm that can change everything at all. IOTA is also called the "crypto currency of things". It appeared five years ago, but it has become popular just now. As soon as it entered the stock exchange, it immediately burst into the Top 10 crypto-currency. How does bitcoin work? In order to perform a bitcoin transaction, the miner must do some work to confirm the transaction. Spend time, huge amounts of energy and allocate space for storage. In the case of IOTA, you can independently confirm the transaction with your device - for example, a regular phone. Your smartphone confirms two other transactions. Those transactions are confirmed by other two. And so on. The more users, the faster and better the network. Now IOTA users have accumulated a critical mass and the currency has become very popular. There is no limit to scalability, no miners are needed, so transactions are free. You do not need to pay a commission to the miners, you do not spend computing power. In general, this is a real bomb that threatens to make a revolution. IOTA solves all problems inherent in bitcoin (limited, high demands on computing power, pseudo-decentralization, data growth and storage problem, slow speed).
The analogy from the real world is JFC Sistema. Briefly, unlike bitcoin, Monero emission is not limited, but transactions take up several times more space than bitcoin. But this is not the most interesting. In general, low-cost transactions, good translation speed, good mining.
An analogy from the real world is the Empire State Building. EOS - the evolution of the currency BitShares and Steemit (which, by the way, seriously criticized that does not prevent BitShares from getting close to the top 10 on capitalization). It is based on a breakthrough technology, which can be compared with the appearance of a blockade. In theory, they can replace Ethereum or enter into synergy with it. In terms of technology, the project is better than Ethereum. Developers have created a new language, and now the EOS platform creates an operating system on which it will be possible to build separate applications. The logic is this: all databases, all web programming will be transferred to the block system. New technologies will allow asynchronous launch of different applications, which will seriously increase the speed of the OS based on EOS. The team expects that the whole world will work on EOS. In general, to be honest, this is the world of "Crypt 3.0".
An analogy from the real world - ? A useful tool not to lose on converting, not to depend on the legislation of different countries, taxes and so on. There is also a similar currency Tether, which is tied to the dollar 1 to 1.
If you want to sell or buy dollars on the blockchain, you should come here. These are not speculative instruments. (Here you need to understand that BitShares itself as a unit of account is also "floating").
It is used as a currency for collecting commissions for a transaction of a fiat currency. It can be speculated. But if we want to operate with fiat money in the blockchain, we can do it inside the BitShares system).
And 5 more crypto-currencies from the top 50 If you look further, in the top 50 crypto-currencies there are a few notable projects. I will list a few.
An analogy from the real world is the stock exchange. It is essentially a stock exchange: an Ethereum platform on which you can exchange different cryptocurrencies (but they all have to be the ERC20 standard - this is the most common Ethereum standard on which most projects are developed). Everything is regulated by smart contracts. This is a new economic tool in the world of blockchain. In fact, they brought the derivatives into the blockchain, which no one had done before. It seems to me that this is a niche product, which, however, can grow 5-10 times.
An analogy from the real world is McDonalds. A good, fashionable currency, I see future in them. Fast, cheap in a transaction, profitable in the mining. It is loved by miners - in other words, market providers like it. And it is like McDonald's - does not belong to anyone. 99.9% of McDonald's shares are traded on the stock exchange, but the largest shareholder owns only 2% of the shares. Decreded as McDonalds.
An analogy from the real world is Netflix. Fantastic project. And by "fantastic" I do not mean "cool", but the original meaning of the word. The business model is incomprehensible, but the team is good. They try to work in the market of events predictions.
While the project is in the alpha stage and no real money goes in there, the team really knows how to correctly analyze the data. Aragon can become crypto-Netflix. How they do it - I have no idea. But just to remind you, 7 years ago Netflix was unprofitable.

[GIVEAWAY]I created my first online business and we are accepting dogecoins! Stop by and let us know what you think! - 10,000 Ð 48 hours from now!

Spoiler alert, I am plugging my business, but I think its a good thing for dogecoin. I started VaporCrypt.com, an online website for buying electronic cigarettes, accessories, and nicotine juice. I want to run my business with the same theme that holds up dogecoin, COMMUNITY!
I want this business to be run by its customers. I will be constantly listening to my customers and what they want. I will carry the items they tell me they want me to carry, and I will take suggestions and requests very seriously so that this can be the best online shop possible.
I currently accept a few different coins, as well as credit cards. All the money you spend here will STAY in dogecoin, I will not be converting it to a fiat currency. I have been a dogecoin miner(5x 270s) since December 2013 so this really means a lot to me and I am happy to service the community.
If you guys have any ideas on how to make it better, or what I can do to better serve you, let me know! I could use any SEO advice, as well as how to reach customers and get the site moving! Currently I am using coinpayments.net which was going to shutdown but was bought by a member "cycloid" of the bitcoin community, and the site is still functioning and will be re-vamped with new management on the 30th.
Post any questions I will be answering all evening!
To the moon(bring your ecigs!) vapor shibes!

"/r/Bitcoin" - a classic circlejerk

It's almost like clockwork.
If for some ungodly reason you want to try reading the entire above thread, for maximum effect you have to imagine yourself being cornered by the world's most self-important stoners, the kind of people leaping from one pseudo-profundity to the next without bothering to finish a single point. I really wasted far more effort than it deserved to de-crypt the linked thread.
So we have the OP - who from personal experience I can say is a class act and one of the funniest people on this entire website. He decided to make the thread as a joke (bitcoins are actually pretty awesome FYI)...but let's see here. Top comment:
This is seriously the top comment. As expected, a redditor as usual decides to use fedoras as a way to shame other redditors. That, and reddit apparently wouldn't know an actual fedora from a hole in the ground. I saw someone just the other day saying they couldn't take breaking bad seriously after Walter white got a "fedora" - that's a pork-pie hat you fucking wanker. I can't have seen someone on reddit correctly identify a fedora more than a half dozen times, and even then most of them were accidental. We're seriously approaching the point where someone will see some bloke with his head stuck in a shallow hole in the ground, and the next thing you know, because it touched the top of some fucker's head, we'll have a frontpage post about a petition to change the name of the planet from "Earth" to "Fedora." I'm frankly stunned that I haven't seen a front page post about Tutankhamun's fucking death mask saying "Look at this stupid neckbeard's golden fedora!" Seriously, the incredible lack of self-awareness, constant "Hey, I said this word you all know!" style repetition, and the blind, clueless, bandwagon hatred of fedoras and the people that wear them around here is truly cringeworthy. Oh shut the fuck up with this stupid fedora shit. At this point, it's just stupid and redundant. Swill. Whatever excuse, whatever reply you have is not good enough at this point. It is SO unbelievably unoriginal, so uninspired and baseless and totally unrelatable to anyone with a normal social life that it's just pathetic coming from anyone who uses that expression and it makes you ultimately pathetic. Nothing can redeem you now. Absolutely nothing is worse than a man regurgitating the same unoriginal useless bullshit endlessly. You have become a part of a moldy network of shitbags who think that an awkward clothing choice is a legitimate point or a comment you should be wasting your time away making. Tl;dr, 'fedora', none of that will make you clever or smart or will get on my nerves. You're so sad now that literally nothing about who you are can save you from this moment. You think I wear one? You think I give a shit? You think I give a shit who you are or what you comment back? You think I cared if you read this whole thing? You think I care about the down-votes? You think I have a cat? None of that shit matters. Don't pay any attention to who I am or why I'm making such a big deal out of it. I just want it to sit with you how useless you are. How inane, how your appetite to post stupid meaningless shit on the most powerful form of communication we humans have... I want you to ruminate in the reality that you REALLY get off on posting about Fedora Wearing Nerds. Nothing will distract from that. Maybe you don't care how you look, maybe you don't care what people like me think. But you can't say that. You must care because you waste precious seconds that you're never getting back posting about it. See? You have no escape. Like I said, no matter who you are. No matter your achievements in life... You're still the little child no matter how old you are, that really fucking said, "I can smell the fedora from here." like a motherfucking cartoon character. You are internet trash. I'm so fucking sick of reddit being filled with absolute cyber-bullying trash like you. No matter how great you make yourself out to be, psychologically... the only thing that explains your behavior is that you're 1. a proven and unredeemable piece of shit or 2. So unhappy with something in your life and SO bad at handling your fucking emotions that you can't even speak to people like human fucking beings so long as something embarrassing happened to them. You are absolute trash. I've been dead for 3 minutes. You've got me all wrong. I'm all heart, and I get pissed off because I care about people. It's not a choice or an affectation, it's just how I feel. What I am is sensitive, and yeah I know that's considered a weakness by some, but isn't it just a synonym for aware? Say what you will about me, but you'll be talking out of your ass, because the folks who actually know me keep telling me I'm empathetic to a fault, I give too much energy to wounded birds, etc, etc. What I am saying is if I see a friend who is short on rent, I write them and check and I don't ask them to pay me back even though I'm probably going to hurt for it later. I'm a huge sap. I'm a light touch. Some people tell me that makes me a fool. I don't give a fuck. If you want to try to dis me at least get your facts straight. TMI? Sorry, that's how I tend to react when people stereotype me. I just spill my guts and let them know I'm a real person, not a straw man. After that anything they want to make up about me is on them, and it says more about them than it does about me. You casually sum me up as smug and intellectual, when the reality is I'm completely driven by emotion and all my intellect does it tell me how to go from point A to point B in pursuit of that. So, maybe you don't know as much as you think you do. Maybe you're the one who is smug. So yeah, it actually does piss me off when some pompous, snarky, self-important, self-appointed deacon of social justice buy the name of greenduch, who so doesn't know me, tells me that I'm the goddam enemy of the goddam downtrodden based on essentially nothing. And that is what your "fedora" stereotype represents to me. Being shitty to people over essentially nothing. Over a fucking hat.
Moving on, the reply to that comment is equally as bad.
Wow. Such clever. So upvotes. The whole "doge" meme needs to be put to rest already, right next to the grave where rage comics are buried. It is important for us to look further into the actual definition of the word "doge" to try to understand the origins a bit. The title of Doge was used for the elected chief of state in a number of Italian "crowned republics". The two best known such republics were Venice (where he was sometimes called a Doxe) and Genoa, which rivalled each other, and the other regional great powers, by building their historical city-states into maritime, commercial, and territorial mini-empires. Other Italian republics to have Doges were Amalfi and the small town of Senarica. In several writings of Theodor Herzl, founder of Zionism, he proposed that the future Jewish State take the title of "Doge" for its Head of State - but this was not taken up by the actual state of Israel. Venice, especially during the Middle Ages, Renaissance and Baroque, was a major centre of art and developed a unique style known as the Venetian School. In the Middle-Ages and the Renaissance, Venice, along with Florence and Rome, became one of the most important centres of art in Europe, and numerous wealthy Venetians became patrons of the arts. Venice at the time was a rich and prosperous Maritime Republic, which controlled a vast sea and trade empire. In the 16th century, Venetian painting was developed through influences from the Paduan School and Antonello da Messina, who introduced the oil painting technique of the van Eyck brothers. It is signified by a warm colour scale and a picturesque use of colour. Early masters were the Bellini and Vivarini families, followed by Giorgione and Titian, then Tintoretto and Veronese. In the early 16th century, also, there was rivalry between whether Venetian painting should use disegno or colorito. This is the main reason why there is a huge amount of paintings left depicting the different Doge of Venice, while not so many, in fact a very few picturing the of Doge of Genoa and Amalfi. I doubt any of you lazy fuckers have read any of this shit and are going to just counterjerk in the comments, but anyways this next comment is worth taking a look at.
A joke about Ron Paul? What year is this, seriously? Sometimes I cannot believe what I'm reading on this website. One minor slip-up of Ron Paul during filming could have completely tarnished his career or caused a snowball effect of negative press. Thank God he handled it as well as he did. But Sasha was a dick to put him in the spot like that. Also, this was during the spark of the Ron Paul revolution in 2008 and it seems to me like a media stunt to ridicule Ron Paul and mask his message. What Ron Paul represents is life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, and that, to me, is something that I do not fool around with. Especially just to fill more seats in a theater. Since I worked for Dr. Paul during his last campaign...I will tell a story and maybe get in trouble for saying this...because he is very humble and told his long time secretary to not say a word...but in Vegas after a few glasses of wine, she spilled this tidbit... A bunch of Veterans in his district were not getting their medals and awards for their time in service. Dr. Paul used his OWN money, not his Congresional salary, becaus if you didn't know, he signs that back to the Treasury; to pay for 200 soldiers Awards,Plaques and medals. The cost was well over $100,000. One of the men, in a wheelchair and suffering from Agent Orange stared at him for a long time...his assistants thought the man was dangerous, but Dr. Paul wasn't fazed. He asked the man if he could help him...this decorated and torn apart Vietnam Vet broke down in tears and told Dr. Paul "You did enough, I just wanted to shake yoru hand and thank you" That is the man Ron Paul is...
This is either a glorious example of people wildly overestimating their own misunderstood genius, people who only write while under the influence of powerful narcotics, or a window into the mind of people in need of some professional help. There's usually one in each intro level economics class, so you can pretty much take your pick.

New site to buy and sell with cryptocurrencies

[CryptCards]1 ! I developed them to make it easy to give away cryptocurrency. They are super easy to use. They are essentially ‘cold’ wallets on a plastic card. They also come with a cardholder. I sell BTC, LTC and ETH cards (I also have some custom dogecoin cards). The give crypto a physical value, people prefer physical gifts over virtual.
I also offer a service where you send me the public address and I will print them on a cryptcard. Send me an pm on reddit or send a mail to [email protected] if you’re interested.
You can purchase them at my site or contact me on reddit!

I tested cointellect for a few weeks and...

A few days ago I wrote about Cointellect, because I do not understand the business. (http://redd.it/2fotzd)
I was doing some tests with different speeds in Cointellect. I tested my GPU and CPU together (190kh / s) and earned around $ 1 per day. I decided to hire a miner for 48 hours on eBay (2.8mH / S) adding it to my account with my PC. That gave me $ 1.4 per day. I looked weird because it was not at all proportional. Then create two more accounts and point each miner to a different account (Contracted, GPU and CPU). With the current system configuration that earned $ 1.3, $ 0.8 and $ 0.5 respectively per day. I tried with another account and a PC 19kh / s. earned $ 0.3 per day. (ie 3 USD per day in total)
So Cointellect is a lie. The gains are not proportional, the statistics are not real (the hashrate of the pool is different in each account) .... but they paid me. I sent all dogecoins and can buy bitcoins in crypts. I could send them to my wallet, I'm about to buy a hashlet with this money.
If you want to try Cointellect NOT downloading their software. They might be a scam. But the coins are real. I think their "business" is in the contracts. promise too much.
Sorry for my English, not my native language.
PS: http://prntscr.com/4mbjc3 -> my balance on coinbase, all earned w/ cointellect
PS2: I am so obsessed with this?
EDIT:
Important update: After jumping above the 10€ earning mark this night, Cointellect asks me to fill in my credit card information in an antibot form. Definitely scam and I am not able to get the last coins without doing this. Be careful shines! tnx ifisch5

Open Letter

Greetings,
I am doing my best to update everyone on every format. Admittedly, it's a bit time consuming so I don't get everywhere as fast as I'd like to. I have been hearing grumblings that I only update twitter. Well, twitter is on my phone so it's very easy for me to update. I have been talking to many of you on Skype, I posted on the forum last week an update, and yesterday on NoBS, and here we are.
The wallet situation is under development. The news is this: It's under development, meaning, it's there, it's working, it's functional, but it's not a product release ready version. I have screenshots of it, but the ones I got I'm not happy with as they are in Italian. Derf is working his ass off building this basically by himself. We hired two different developers who swore up and down they could handled the ZetacoinJ build and turned out to be full of shit. We could use all the help we can get debugging it and doing security checks. We are not terribly far away, but right now I am not going to push it for the sake of releasing something. I much prefer having a product we can feel secure about. The dogecoin online wallet still rings too loudly in my ears. That's the update until there is something new to report. I am working to get good screenshots. I hope to have them soon. No one wants this more than I do. We have real world businesses that ask me every day when this will be ready. I want to break that news, but not at the expense of putting out a shitty product that's unsafe.
The shop was delayed due to our desire to accept cryptopayments. This required some modifying and developing a ZetacoinD to do so, and that hit some speed bumps. On Thursday, I will find a regular ecommerce package to get up on shop.zetacoin.cc, and start to put it together. We'll add crypto payments later. I hope to have it full operation by next Thursday at the latest, shooting for Tuesday.
We have new website game which is a pretty nice that was created by a member of the group. I won't steal any of his thunder, but he should be releasing that soon.
There will be ATMs released in the next week or two that have Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Zetacoin. That's right, the first ATM with a cryptocurrency other than Bitcoin, and one of the three is Zetacoin. This is tentative, I won't release more as it's a third party friend that is building these.
It is the goal of my new company CryptComm Global to have these ATMs with Zetacoin in them up and running in the United States (Kansas City) within 6-10 weeks.
I know of 6 businesses so far that are looking forward to accepting Zetacoin payments in the brick and mortars, and may be able to convince at least one law firm if not two to accept them as well.
Our price sucks. I'm well aware. Everyone's price is down. I hate it too. We must rally and work together to complete projects. I love that Marek and Stewartie4 took on translating the site! I love Hammo and Parabear are just going HAM on all sorts of things, now with para releasing everything in Chinese to the chinese sites. That's amazing. We need more community involvement. We need more people to get involved. I can do a lot, but I cannot do everything - this only works if it's all of us. I posted a project in 305 that I will not post here. We need to tackle that quickly.
I stand by Zetacoin. I stand by our future. I stand by becoming the first real currency. We are well on our way. That's where we are at. I am sorry I don't have better news. I am sorry I don't have the magical cure all. Hard work is what is next. I couldn't be prouder to be in this group with you guys. When the going gets tough, we roll up our sleeves to build an empire.

Shibes, now is the time to build our own rocket to the moon! And this is how:

Right now we are in an interesting discussion about our future – the future of our beloved dogechain. It's the backbone of our economy. Every tiny shibe uses the same playground to play and dig and to have all this fun.
Lately, as i'm sure every shibe noticed, we got an offer from litecoin to merge our mining. First of all, thank you ! Thats very kind.
But in my honest opinion, i think we are strong enough to stand on our own little paws. We don't need a bigger brother, who protects us when we are in trouble or someone wants to do us harm.
We are already strong enough to protect us on our own. And we found good friends in the playground, like the good guys from Digibyte.
But we have to be aware of our future. We have to defend ourself when we are threatened. We have to protect our dogechain.
The critical point is reached, when our blockreward is not enough to keep all the miners digging. The less people dig, the lower is our security of our dogechain. Especially when the first asic miners get released and only a few of them can totally overcome our global hashrate.
Yes, we can fight them if we change our algorithm to sCrypt-n, or Keccak, or X11, or...
We become a pure PoS Coin after the last block halving.
In my opinion we should get rid of the old PoW system, after the point we are fully mined out (our blockreward hits 10k coins). Instead we should change to pure PoS with an interest of 1-5% per year.
This would favour every shibe who believes in our coin. Just imagine the crazy buying and mining mania after everyone understands that dogecoins are limited. It would also make our blockchain safe to 51% PoW attacks!
This would also allow everyone to participate in the network, practically you could PoS mine with every smartphone or laptop or tablet, you just need your wallet on the device ! Every shibe can participate !!
And for our well experienced digging shibes, we could start our own Doge-Multipool for every other hash algorythm.
Right now our network is at 80 gigahash ! Thats 80000 megahash, or in other words:
360(!) bitcoin buying power every day! (if you calculate with 0,0045 btc/mh)
Now imagine that people pour 200k dollar in our economy every day. We can create Doge-Multipools for sCrypt-n, X11, Keccak or even Sha256! Imagine people to mine bitcoins, just to get paid out in dogecoins! Doesn't that sound to good to be true ? Well maybe, but we have 1 year in front of us to build our rocket.
And i honestly think, that this is the most efficient rocket to fly us to the moon. All of us !

Dogecoin is a cryptocurrency that was created as a joke — its name is a reference to a popular Internet meme. It shares many features with Litecoin. However, unlike Litecoin, there is no hard cap on the number of Dogecoins that can be produced. Dogecoin differs from Bitcoin's proof-of-work protocol in several ways, one of which is by using Scrypt technology. The altcoin has also a block time of 1 minute, and the total supply is uncapped, which means that there is no limit to the number of Dogecoin that can be mined.
